Purpose
The Target-Organization Assessment is used by the Business-Process Analyst as a basis for configuring the business modeling discipline for a particular project.
The Target-Organization Assessment is also used:
- to explain to the stakeholders why there is a need to change the business processes
- to create motivation and a common understanding among the people in the target-organization that are directly or indirectly affected
- as input to the Development Case and the Iteration Plans
Timing
The Target-Organization Assessment is created at the very beginning of a project. Sometimes, it is created even before a project has started. We recommend that you revisit and review the Target-Organization Assessment after each iteration. You may have discovered new problems as well as opportunities.
