Purpose
The purpose of the training material, depending on project requirements, is to teach users how to use, operate or maintain the product. The material is intended for use in training courses.
Enclosed Documents and Artifacts
- Overhead slides for classroom teaching.
- Student notes for classroom teaching.
- Teacher’s instructions.
- Example programs, databases, and so on.
- Textbooks, tutorials.
Timing
Training Materials are initially created in the Elaboration Phase as the Requirements and Use Cases evolve. They are refined in the Construction Phase.
Responsibility
The Course Developer is responsible for designing and creating the training material.
Tailoring
Training materials are needed if there will be formal education of users or system operations staff. Training material can be designed and made available over the Web. Trainees could potentially log into a training Web site and follow the course material at their own pace, as required.
