Process Component: Implementation

Description

The Implementation process component is concerned with the process of producing the implementation of a software application, including source code, and executable/deployable files derived from source code. This component includes process guidance for producing these “implementation elements”, guidance on organizing the implementation in terms of larger units (Implementation Subsystems), and guidance on modeling the implementation and its relationships to design elements.

Implementation is an core concern in software development, and is a key practice area for which RUP provides process guidance.

Dependencies

A process that include the Implementation component should also include the Design and Architecture components. It is also recommended that the top level Requirements, Management, and Assessment components also be included as a minimum, to provide context.
